Life can be difficult, but psychotherapy can help navigate challenging times. As a clinical psychologist, I combine evidence-based approaches to psychological assessment and treatments to help individuals across the lifespan manage their difficult symptoms and overcome life’s obstacles. Collaboratively, we will develop a strong therapeutic relationship, and you will learn skills to manage psychological symptoms while being afforded an open, inviting space to explore life’s challenges. I believe in treating clients with warmth, empathy, and respect, and together we will engage in work to help you reach your best self.

Offering Virtual/Telehealth Behavioral and Mental Health Services

My Approach

I draw from different therapeutic modalities and techniques, primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in addition to other evidence-based treatments and methods, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT), psychodynamic approaches, among others. I also have extensive experience in psychological testing and assessment. I attempt to use an integrated approach between assessment and psychotherapy to meet your needs. In my work, I seek to explore how varying systems influence psychological functioning. For example, I believe treatments work best when clinicians take into account those factors that influence symptoms prior to the first session, and the real-life factors that influence clients when they leave every psychotherapy session (e.g., social support, stigma, sociocultural stress, etc.).

Clinically, I have extensive experience with working with children, adolescents, families, emerging adults, and adults across the lifespan and experience treating a variety of disorders (depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, disruptive behavior disorders, ADHD, substance use, panic attacks, etc.). I have worked with diverse populations in various settings (inpatient hospitals, outpatient hospitals, university settings, homeless shelters, schools, etc.).

Rates & Insurance

Receiving therapy should not be financially stressful. I work with you to find what is financially comfortable for you. I am out of network with all insurance companies, so if you have out-of-network behavioral health benefits, services will be covered in full or in part by your health insurance. Usually, after you meet your deductible, your insurance provider will reimburse a percentage of a rate determined by them to be reasonable. Most insurance providers cover 60% to 80% of that reasonable rate. That rate might be similar to, or different than, our fee, so I recommend that you check your out-of-network plan for the exact coverage.

I sometimes offer decreased fees if you do not have good out-of-network insurance coverage or have to pay out of pocket.

To check your out-of-network benefits, you will need to call the number on the front or the back of your insurance card (member services) and ask them the following questions:

  • What are my out-of-network behavioral health benefits for an office visit?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?

  • What is a reasonable rate for billing code 90791?

  • What is a reasonable rate for billing code 90834?

They will tell you the percentage of the reasonable rate they reimburse.

Ease of payment and insurance reimbursement

I accept credit cards, FSA/HSA cards, checks, and cash. Fees are expected to be paid in full at the time of the session. I will then submit a claim listing your sessions to your insurance provider at the end of the month, and you will be reimbursed by your insurance provider based on your out-of-network behavioral health coverage.

Cancellation policy that is fair and considers your financial well-being

You can cancel your weekly session at any time. To be considerate, I require 24-hour advance notice of a cancellation. However, I know that unexpected things can happen at the last minute, so if you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and you have not notified me 24 hours in advance, I will try to reschedule your appointment within the week of your appointment or see you twice the following week (if you are being seen weekly). If you are unable to reschedule, you will be responsible for the full fee for the missed session.
